SAVE FOR THE HOLIDAYS WITH GROUPON #Groupon #ad

(This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.)
As much as I don't want to think about the Holidays and how fastly the frenzy is approaching, it's virtually impossible considering quite a few stores are already decked out in Holiday décor. It's not even Halloween yet! Thus I'm already thinking about gift ideas but I'm also thinking about how I can spend most wisely. If like me, Groupon Goods has you covered.

SPEND LESS AND SAVE YOUR ENDS WITH GROUPON COUPONS!

I'm far from a coupon maven but there's no denying I love to save whenever possible. And like most I want my savings immediately, I don't want to have to wait for the next cycle or discounts sent via mail. (This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.)

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY #HaveCameraWillSnap

"A spontaneous moment, captured." That's my definition of "street" photography. This is hands down one of my fave shots that I had the privilege to capture this week. I happened upon a group of young bicyclists while out scouting shots and the choreography and symmetry in which they rode, in unison almost was awe'ing. I could barely reach for my camera quick enough. I pray they, you, me are blessed to ride through life in the same spirit.

Location: The Yards Park, Washington, DC

SPILLING THE TEA ON THE WICKED BLOOM'S TASTY NEW MENU #TeaTimeTues

The same as we freshen up our humble abode so too do bars, seasonally. And even better when said bar whose former sister spot you frequented, extends you an exclusive invitation to sample fresh new menu items (cocktails included). That was a mouthful and my mouth pretty much stayed full at last week's The Wicked Bloom Social Club #TasteTheWicked.

I'll ask again, have you ever posed in front of a camera that someone else is behind?

So You Have Pretty Pictures, Now What??? #BIsForBoss

I wrapped a shoot just last week and shared pics across my social media platforms. And while I'm totally flattered by all the generous comments and feedback, I couldn't help but consider how many individuals I've come across attempting to navigate the social media landscape, build their brands, start a business, etc. who have invested in great flicks that literally just sit. That's right, they hire a photographer, get their "fit" together which may not be limited to one if the shoot includes multiple looks, perhaps a Stylist even is required. Not to mention hair, makeup, etc. And if things go as planned, you have gorgeous pictures!

So you have pretty pictures, now what?

I Deleted Cornbread From Sunday's Dinner Menu

My kids are hearty eaters and knowing that I typically reserve Sundays as my day to go all out, they start inquiring about Sunday dinner a couple a days before. I on the other hand was rather finicky as a child but my kids seemingly don’t know nuttin bout that life. It’s a wonder they don’t bang their silverware on the table screaming, “where’s my dinner woman?”

A DIY TIP FOR A FUN ROAD TRIP WITH THE KIDS #HEELSTOTHEWHEELS

"When hitting the road with kids, they can get antsy and bathroom breaks are likely. My oldest is 11 and I have twins who are 9. While there are now many music streaming apps, I love Spotify. I have a library of playlists at the ready for when I take my morning runs and need to stay pumped and even when I'm heading to church and want to listen to my gospel faves. As the kids and I were packing and readying ourselves for the trip the day before leaving, I had a thought regarding building a playlist for them. One, I love to hear my kids sing, they are typically totally oblivious to me and will sing as if no one is watching but I also thought it a good way to curb that boredom and "antsy-ness" that kids can sometimes fall into when on the road. So in an effort to engage them in the trip and make them feel even more a part of what we were doing and where we were going, I asked each of them to write me a list of their fave songs and instead of picking the songs myself, I allowed them to pick 6 songs each so it became a project. I set a deadline which was before they went to bed and I would then build the list prior to hitting the road. It turned out to be the best idea!"

Their handwritten lists ...
The key to this tip is that I made it a project which kids love. But it will also engage your kids and make them feel as though they have a say in the trip and plans and preparations as opposed to just being ordered to pack this and pack that. You know us Mommies are good at ordering our kids around especially when we are "red" to go :). My kids were so excited at the mere suggestion and diligently planned their lists. It kept them quiet and chill the night before and tempered them being so wired about going on a trip. They were so selective about their songs and upon playing their playlist the next day whilst on the road, it worked like a charm!
Happy Kids, Happy Mommy!!!!

I MADE MY OWN ALL-NATURAL SWEETENER, YOU CAN TOO #TeaTimeTues

If you follow me on Instagram @bagladies, you know I'm a "loose leaf" tea fein. I drink multiple cups mugs a day. But as I delve more into my habit if you will, it lends itself to focusing more on healthy eating. I've sourced organic teas that have all kinds of medicinal benefits be it better skin, more energy or even improved cardiovascular and digestive functions. Sugar and/or equal are my go-to's when it comes to sweeteners but I've LONG since wanted to find an alternative if for no other reason, than all that sugar is just not good. I think I've finally found it!

DROWNING IN #BLACKGIRLMAGIC AT NUBIAN HUEMAN #TeaTimeTues

Cause when you are surrounded by #BlackGirlMagic. Immersed in #BlackGirlMagic. Drowning in #BlackGirlMagic …It produces sumpin and that which all that magic yielded at last Friday’s The Ayaba Series: A Sister Circle event at Nubian Hueman, was an abundance of amazing energy.

People often joke about glitter and unicorns. I surely saw a unicorn, perhaps even two dash across the Anacostia Arts Center where Nubian Hueman boutique is located in Southeast Washington, DC. And glitter was on continuous swirl.
