IT'S GRILLING SEASON AND THESE ARE MY FAVE GRILLED PORK RECIPES!

It's summer!! One tell-tale sign that the season is upon us, is the smell of neighbors firing up the grill. It is not uncommon in my neighborhood to find families grilling on a daily and throwing everything from veggies to beef to chicken, on an open fire for some good grub.

#BEAUTYTALK: MY LATEST NAIL SWAG

My nail swag is as much a part of me as ...I don't know, it's just a part of me and when I'm past due such as what I was prior to a paying a recent visit to my Nail Stylist, I feel incomplete. So this is the latest in what my Nail Stylist, Mikal Brannum refers to as the "flower power" series seeing as how I've been stuck on designs that incorporate flowers as of late. I was most recently totally inspired by the efforts of my youngest daughter to complete a 5k. The 5k was held on behalf of Girls On The Run DC and was a first for both my daughter (aka, mini-me), and me. As much as I wasn't sure if my daughter would be able to endure the entire race on a day that turned out to be a scorcher, I wasn't sure if I would, particularly since I hadn't run in at least two years. But my daughter asked me to participate and I couldn't turn her down. And the experience of crossing the finish line hand in hand with her, is a moment and a milestone that I will cherish for a lifetime and hopefully my daughter will, too. It's been almost 4 weeks since Girls On The Run DC held their annual 5k on May 3rd in Anacostia Park in SE Washington, DC. And I haven't stopped running since!!!!

Founded in 2006, Girls On The Run is a non-profit program targeting girls in 3rd through 8th grades with a mission to inspire girls to be healthy, joyful and confident by integrating running.
