Who else on this planet could rock a simple long-sleeve, belted, black jersey dress, better than Halle Berry? From the top of her pixie cut head to the bottom of her feet which are covered in stunning charcoal grey suede platforms. And you might think that she was stepping out for a true "fashionista" event but instead, Halle was stepping out all for the cause. Bag Ladies (always on the scene), caught a glimpse of Halle stepping out on Saturday for the March of Dimes fourth annual Celebration of Babies at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Bag Ladies ..."All About The Cause"

Bag Ladies Reality Radio was "All About The Cause" last night as they dedicated their weekly show entirely to Breast Cancer Awareness. And since October is in fact Breast Cancer Awareness month, it was a perfect fit and a great way to close out Bag Ladies last show of the month. But don't think you've heard the last of Bag Ladies when it comes to raising awareness, Bag Ladies efforts to lend attention to Breast Cancer and particularly the rising number of diagnoses amongst young women will continue beyond October and will be an ongoing conversation. Check out the "Pink Ribbon" featured last nite as per Bag Ladies "What's Sippin." The "Pink Ribbon" is 4oz. Pink Lemonade, 1oz. Triple Sec and White Zinfandel. You can feel good about taking this drink to the head ...Just remember, it's "All About The Cause". Madame Myra was MIA so her Top 10 was missed but Lady Erin and Miz Adams brought good convo about everything from "boobies" to the swine flu to the gorgeous Belvedere "Belvie Bag" and the Balmain Booties Lady Erin kicked off during the course of the show. You know, to set the tone of chatting it up with your good girlfriends. She was already sippin good. But mix that with celeb news always delivered by Gossip Guru, Jameelah per "What's Poppin With The Paparazzi" and you got a hot show!! "What's Poppin" is one of the most popular segments and always gets Lady Erin, Madame Myra and Miz Adams amped up and last nite was no exception. Jameelah provided dominating celeb headlines about everything from the beef btwn. Spike Lee and Tyler Perry to the supposed hookup btwn. Justin T. and Rihanna, Lamar Odom and Khloe (formerly Khloe Kardashian) Odom matching tats and soooo much more. To understand is to tune into Bag Ladies Radio every Tuesday or check it out OnDemand. There was a definite tone of just having a good time as Lady Erin and Miz Adams were glad to be back on air after taking last Tuesday off to as they said, "work behind the scenes on some thangs, new features, segments and stuff." Bag Ladies stepped it up a tad last nite with the new "Bag Ladies On The Scene in ATL with Lisa and Ra." This will be a regular segment about some of the happenings and latest and greatest in the ATL which includes Bag Ladies attendance of last weekend's premier party for R&B singer Monica's new reality series, "Still Standing." As is typical at the end of the show, Miz Adams "WOW'd" us with her Words of Wisdom.

Bag Ladies Look of the Week: First Lady

As we were perusing potential looks to post for our Bag Ladies Look of the Week, we came across this pic of the First Lady last week on the south lawn of the White House promoting physical fitness at the Healthy Kids Fair, and fell in love that much more since if you're like us you were already in love with Michelle Obama. We couldn't take our eyes off this pic and it's less about the fashion this week although she brings it but instead it's more about the "free spiritidness" she portrays. Who doesn't want that? Who doesn't want to be able to pull that look off? She's so unpretentious and real which is why Bag Ladies Reality Radio loves her. She is totally oblivious to the press and paparazzi which we can deffie relate to cause the press and paparazzi always trying to capture our fabulousness but I digress. But to be able to capture that carelessness and still look nonetheless put together and sharp with a black studded wide leather belt, royal blue cardigan, slim fitting tapered capri pants, First Lady Michelle Obama won hands over fist. As for your role in capturing the look and getting us some pics ...if you so choose, cool but know that we want the look in its entirety which includes the accessory that is the hula hoop. That's right ...you gotta accessorize it up. So get to pulling the pieces together, dust off that old hula hoop and oh, be sure to put those hips in action too. Bag Ladies Look of the Week: Beyonce' Knowles

Beyonce "rocked the frock" Friday literally at handbag designer, Samantha Thavasa's Meet and Greet at Studio Mouris Roppongi in Tokyo, Japan. "B" is simply chic, adorned in Rock & Republic as both the strapless black cocktail dress and cobalt blue suede "Celina" pumps with spike detail are both R&R. We love the trend that is the black strapless dress and the platform pumps are to die for and that color is making us drool. This is such an effortless look which are sometimes the best.

Currently performing in Asia, "B" was able to find time to make a pit-stop and support designer Samantha Thavasa whose handbags "B" refers to as hip and chic. Last time she was caught at a Samantha Thavasa event, sister Solange wasn't too far behind but this time "B" stepped out solo but not without a Samantha Thavasa design on her arm.

Bag Ladies Look of the Week: Gabrielle Union

So many hot events to pull great looks ...from Paris Fashion Week to the Los Angeles premier of Chris Rock's Good Hair ...Bag Ladies had a chance to check out an advance screening last week. And definitely gather the girls and check it out cause it is a movie although I think technically classified as a documentary, but surely a hit that you won't wanna miss. It's that good, that insightful and damn sure that funny!! Anything that explores how territorial and possessive Black Women can be and have always been about their hair whether it's their own biological hair or someone else's, is a guaranteed riot!!!

But back to what we doing here, we at Bag Ladies just couldn't take our eyes off the comfortably chic look Gabrielle Union rocked at the Good Hair premier and we are that much more excited to see how you, our listeners might pull it off. What's Poppin With The Paparazzi ...

Our Bag Ladies "Gossip Guru" always brings it to us every Tuesday with our What's Poppin With The Paparazzi segment and she literally has us falling out of our chair every week and tears strolling down our face with laughter. Tonite was no different. And one headline in particular was too hilarious not to immediately post and if you missed this eve's show, check it out here OnDemand. But as we talked about last week, Tyra's whole mission to sport her natural locks and get rid of the weave and commence some sort of a natural hair day, has garnered some attention not just from regular folk and fabulous Bag Ladies but also celebs. And one response in particular that we talked about tonite, could not be ignored. Our girl also actress and model, Joy Bryant let a rip! And like my friend and I were chatting about, call me stupid but I never knew she had a weave. Anyway, read for yourself below ...

Joy Bryant wrote a blog over at Essence.com. And she’s being half sarcastic and half real about her own addiction to weave. ANd how Tyra’s “real hair” realization has no effect on her:

As the threads of the grown-out tracks were being snipped, I broke out my laptop and began my ritualistic daily web search. I go from news of the day to articles/blogs about the news of the day, ending up on entertainment/gossip/fashion stuff.

But that day, something caught my attention and trumped all of the glowing reviews of President Obama’s health care speech:

It was Tyra’s hair.

National Real Hair Day? I missed that one…In fact, on National Real Hair Day, I was calling Extensions Plus in L.A. to make sure they had enough of the 20” “relaxed roots” texture hair that I love oh so much (and that keeps selling out like crazy!), and making an appointment to get my hair, I mean, my weave, hooked up.

So Tyra, while I didn’t take part in your observance, I just want to say: “WOW!” You are such a brave woman for breaking the chains that bound you since your teenage years! What courage that took, for you to expose yourself to millions of people! Such fearlessness!
Oh, how I wish I had the guts to do that. I guess I’m much too much of an insecure, self-loathing Negro for all that self-acceptance foolishness.

I’m glad we got down to solving the mystery of what’s under your lace-front, though. I mean seriously, it was “THE” question that has perplexed the world over. And now we see that there’s a beautiful head of hair underneath it all, hair that was surprisingly relaxed and ready for the world. Whodathunkit?! If I had the same length and fullness of hair that you have, I might take my weave out too.

Ha!!!! I’m just playing! Even if I DID have your “real” hair, I’d still be wearing a few tracks or clip-ons up in there.

Why?

Because I’m straight weave fo life, kid!!!

Ima ride ride wit this weave, die die with this weave!!

Let me break it down for you:

See, I loooooove taking new hair out of the bag, combing through it with my fingers, holding it up with my two hands, and burying my face in it. Mmmm, mmmm, mmm! Nothing like a new batch of zig-zag curly to get your self esteem out of the dumps!

The feeling of getting my hair, I mean, my weave done over. I feel human again. I feel sexy. I feel powerful. It makes me feel…it makes me feel…it makes feel like a natural woman!!!
I can be whatever, whoever I want to be with the stroke of a sewing needle…

With long brown tresses and a tan, I’m Pocahontas, ’cause I got Indian in my family. With easy waves, I AM bohemian rhapsody goddess personified. And now that I got blond highlights! What!? I know I look like Beyonce! You can’t tell me nothing! Uh oh, uh oh…
And then I looked up from my computer, and caught a glimpse in the mirror of my head minus the long weavy locks. I looked crazy! Awww hell naw! I looked over at the new batch of hair sitting off to the side waiting to join forces with me. Damnit, I’m trapped, I thought to myself. I can’t let it go. I am powerless over it. Just when I think I’m done, it pulls me back in!

Now I guess I can get help for my self-loathing addiction.

I can learn to accept myself in my entirety. I can emancipate myself from that which keeps me locked-up. I can embrace the natural state of things.

Yup, I can do all of that…

But don’t hold your breath!

Bag Ladies Look of the Week: Eve

It's Monday which means it's time for another fabulous look! Perhaps you might've caught some of the looks posted all over the world wide web from VH1's Hip Hop Honors 2009 which is the only way you will sneak a peek since the show doesn't air until October 13th. There were many head turning looks on the red carpet ...some good, most bad. But one look in particular that we liked and selected as our fave of the week, is our girl Eve. Always on the radar, Eve maintains her style and doesn't compromise. Eve achieves such a great balance between femininity and confidence with just a touch of testosterone thrown in! We love the way she rocked this little black dress. Everyone should have one ...of course it doesn't have to be Helmut Lang but Eve set it off with a gorgeous yellow and black striped clutch, fingerless gloves and Diego Dolcini heels. Evidently she took the stage and presented so can't want to see her do her thang.
